To tell you the truth, I feel like this book had so much potential but much of it was wasted so badly. I really like the book, don’t get me wrong. But I feel like everything leading up to the final events was kind of unnecessary. Like the constant separation of the crew and the back of forth of pretty much everywhere became so repetitive and boring that I was about to give up on the book. Even though I kinda hate to admit it, Winter and Jacin were getting on my nerves. When their chapters came up I just wanted to skip through them. Like I found their problems to be kinda boring (but still very valid ofc.)

I hate to say it but I feel like the book needed more romance. I mean take this in count, the last 3-4 chapters were the best (imo) because we got romance sciences with every character. The others ones were just kind of repetitive. And Winters relationship with Jacin kind of bothered me. Scarlet really has an obsession with saying “alpha mate” and it gets me uncomfortable but I can deal with it (I mean I did endure teen wolf lol.)

Overall, the book was really good but it has as much potential as the first book had. I don’t think I’ll read stars above because I just found out that it isn’t only about Cinder and Kai (which is like the only couple I care about sorry
