The Pioneer Woman: Black Heels to Tractor Wheels: A Love Story
by Ree Drummond
I found myself completely swept up in this love story. So many times I couldn't help grinning idiotically at the sheer cuteness of Ree and her Marlboro Man. All of us should be so lucky to find that kind of love and devotion. Sure, some parts of the book annoyed me a little (how perfect Marlboro Man is portrayed for the longest time, how the end is very reminiscent of Laura Ingalls Wilder's The First Four Years, and the way Drummond glosses over some points I wish she'd delved farther into, for example), but in all, The Pioneer Woman: Black Heels to Tractor Wheels is a lovely memoir of falling in love and building a life, a feel-good read. I checked this book out of the library, but I may have to find a copy to add to my own collection.
