This book was good, but it wasn’t my genre. I might not have read the tags enough but I was expecting a fantasy book with a subplot of romance, not for the fantasy plot and romance plot be on the same level of importance. I’m not a big fan of romance books but if that’s your thing, you’ll probably like this. It threw me off how quickly they were into each other. I liked how the characters were older though, most books of this genre have much younger naive characters (even though Halla still feels quite naive) so it was a nice change of pace. I feel like Halla overreacted to the twist at the end but that’s just me.
