If I could give this six (or 10) stars, I would! The level of detail in the scenes is phenomenal! You can really tell how much time and care went into all of it.
Fire Force is another one of my favorite anime but I initially checked it out because of the trailer and the fact that the creator, Atsushi Ohkubo, created Soul Eater too. I haven’t read that anime but I watched a few episodes and loved the art style and quirkiness of it! This story is so interesting, including the use of religion and how it’s based on fire fighters. Obsessed with the use of pyromancy too!
As for favorite characters, this series is one of the only ones where I’m really drawn to the MC. Most of the time I fall in love with the loyal best friend or another character in the main side characters group. Shinra has a good heart buried under an unfortunate quirk and an amazing power. There’s a past tragedy - as most good MCs have - but he wants to do something good with his life by helping others.
I also have a major crush on Maki because she’s strong and a badass, but also feminine and pretty! Obi’s up there on my list too since he’s an all-around nice guy with no powers and a strong moral compass. And, due to things that happen later in the series, Hinawa is an absolute badass! (I can’t wait to get to a certain scene with him against the main antagonist(s)!)
I’m absolutely blown away by the complexity of the art style! The first volume ended perfectly and I’m already planning when to get Vol. 2!
