First half of the book didn't have too much plot to invest in. Some things happened but they were very quickly resolved by the characters without issue.
Iria went from being a badass, sarcastic and outspoken warrior woman in the first book, to being a whiny, sentimental, emotionally not always stable empty shell of a woman who's only purpose is to be a romantic interest.
I founds this pretty sad because Iria was actaully a pretty fun character.
Aren has also turned from a nice, trusting and considerate best friend character to being a whiny bitch lol
Their romance was not in the slightest set up in the first book and they're chemistry (or their lack thereof) was not interesting at all. All their scenes were lame and had no real character in it.
Em's and Cas' romance was still pretty cute
The Olso Royals were pretty fun characters and the following battle pretty funny tbh
Overall, as much as I might have enjoyed the second half, the lacking characters and the lacking plot puts this at a 3 1/2.
I will not read the last book in the near future :)
