I was hoping this book would get better than the first book but I was disappointed. There was so much unnecessary drama between all of the characters.

Spoiler

If their powers will slowly disappear if David isn't near them, then in the first book she could have just left and would have been able to have a normal life in a different place. It kind of defeats the purpose of her being forced into the role.
