Little Women by Louisa May Alcott

5.0

Literally right before I read this book I was like "hey I haven't cried from a book in so long haha" and guess what :/ yeah I cried at like three different places in this book so there goes that.

Genuinely what a ride though! I love the stories that take you through many years of a character's life, so you can really see them grow and become invested in their future. This book definitely ticked that box, and went further than just one character - you fell in love with a whole family, and watched each of them grow from childhood to adulthood. That was the most spectacular thing: Alcott really created four (plus side characters) very different, distinct characters as children, and each of them aged and matured uniquely and true to themselves.

Yes it has an overly happy ending, yes that doesn't detract from the reality of the story at all. It filled me with so much joy :') seriously just a lovely finish to a lovely read.
