The Sandman is perhaps my favourite graphic novel series. The first collection is great, but The Sandman is still searching for its final form, its own thing. There are some weird connections with other DC Comics, like Constantine and Arkham Asylum, but Preludes & Nocturnes successfully lays the foundations for one of the most ambitious comics ever created.
