Callsign: Queen by Jeremy Robinson

4.0

I find it interesting that Mr. Robinson is a fan of James Rollins, who is one of my favorite authors, as this Novella definitely mirrors many of the aspects of Rollins' stories and characters. While I did find it enjoyable and a fast read, the author's penchant for more brutal violence, which is also quite graphically described, was somewhat of a turn off, and a little more than I needed or wanted.

The story was interesting, but also somewhat more unbelievable than Rollins' tales, so while I would have given this three and 1/2 stars if Goodreads allowed it, I upgraded my choice to four stars because I felt three was too low, and do see potential in his writing.

The fact that I bought it for a buck or so with a coupon did not hurt, but if you're a fan of this genre, it's probably worth the $2.99 price.
