This book was not fast paced but wasn't slow either, it sat rather steady throughout the whole thing. I loved the main character in it, she wasn't your full out typical female hero. Being the first book you can tell a lot of it was just to build up for the next book and future books to come. I cant wait to see how things progress in the next books
