The Eyes of Darkness
by Dean Koontz
Like many readers of 2020, I chose this book because of its alleged prediction of the coronavirus pandemic. I kept waiting for the eerie similarities to emerge, but that didn't happen. Aside from mentioning the Wuhan laboratory and a virus it has nothing to do with the real life situation (not even the symptoms of the two diseases have anything in common).
Also, the last 20 pages felt rushed like the writer was running out of time before the deadline and couldn't think of a more original solution.
In conclusion, if you read this book without the coronavirus in mind it's a fairly entertaining read. Fast paced and enjoyable although predictable.
I am not regretting reading this book, but I probably won't give it a re-read.
