Maybe I wasn’t in the right headspace, but I feel like the last 100 pages left me more confused than satisfied. The pacing seemed a little off, and the last chapters felt sort of disconnected? A lot just happened really quickly, whereas earlier in the series hundreds of pages were spent sort of rehashing what we already knew. Rather than concluding series-long plot lines, this book tried to introduce and resolve more plot threads than the first two books combined. Although some parts of this book were definitely slower, I was perfectly fine with it because it felt like what the other two had been - unabashed tropes and cliches souped together in one sugary sweet concoction of fictional indulgence. Except twists started flying left and right, punched plot continuity into swiss cheese, and then suddenly it was happily ever after somehow? Although I didn’t love how this book ended, I have hope for Roberts’ future projects as she matures as a writer
Moderate: Incest
