I was very satisfied with the way the trilogy ended, especially how the larger themes of religion and growing up and death were handled. I wish I would have read this in high school when I was questioning my upbringing and what I believed. I ultimately ended up on a similar page as Philip Pullman, but I would have saved a lot of mental energy had I read this series.
