This book was so weird and so enjoyable. This is what I look for in a Sci-fi romance book. The alien looks like an alien, it’s heavy in sci-fi which well, makes it weird. The storyline was unique and I really felt for both MMCs because they were both put in a situation they didn’t ask to be apart of. Both abducted from their home planets, experimented on and violated.

There’s a lot of world(universe?) building and I really enjoyed that because it didn’t feel like an info dump. It felt strategically given throughout the book at the right moments.

Claire cracked me up because given her situation is absolute crap, she made the most of it. Her love for alien romance books definitely helped the situation. Thrax I adored, absolutely adored. I feel like when you have a sci-fi romance book with an alien that is very alien, it makes it an even more enjoyable experience. He’s been changed to feel emotions, have a mate, to feel, move and think differently. He was complicated and was constantly learning how to adapt.

I can’t wait to continue with the rest of Susan Trombley’s work, she is a phenomenal writer in my opinion and I look forward to reading more “weird” by her.

PS: The fact that Thrax called any being that didn’t have a hard shell like him, “soft meat” is hysterical and that will forever be one of my favorite things.
