!Wow! Lockhart perfectly wrote from the POV of a white, privileged and dramatic teenage girl perfectly. I felt like I was reading this teen’s journal. Tragedy hits each person differently, and it can either break or heal a family. Lockhart captured this perfectly too. I bawled as I read the last 30 pages, and am completely surprised by the twist.
Moderate: Animal death, Child death, Fire/Fire injury, Alcohol
