Pale Kings and Princes
by Robin Wasserman, Cassandra Clare
In this e-book we dove into the Cold Peace started in 'City of Heavenly Fire' and follow Simon and Izzy as they navigate the political ramifications of the Dark War and the fey's involvement. We see Helen Blackthorn and learn of her parentage, and the description of her parents' relationship was beautiful. The prose and dialogue was beautiful, as usual, and the metaphors were both heavy and enjoyable, something hard to hit, especially with fantasy and romantic interludes. We also see some of the tension that will surely be explored when Clare's 'Dark Artifices' trilogy finally starts--whenever that is, it needs to be sooner. No spoilers, but Sizzy fans will surely get a lot of meat to chew on with this volume. All in all, a great addition (and yes, Simon's amnesia is acknowledged but it finally doesn't choke out the rest of the story).
