okay. the plot? whatever idc
but it the way she unveils the information and the “romance” in this?? omfg i had to physically FORCE myself to finish it after giving up so many times. some things were sooo annoying omg
the first book was kinda okay but THIS ONE?.
violet was annoying and every time she had a conversation with xaden was to fight ab the things she did not know and did not ask. like GIRL just fucking talk.
i get that deep down she didn’t want to face certain things but it was just the same discussion over and over and over again every time they reunited, and then every time they were interrupted by some fight or they stopped talking and had make out sex
also he hid things for a reason like he had a revolution going on for SIX YEARS and it only took her a few weeks to tell all her friends tf.
the angst rebecca thought that the main couple give did not land well and it just made me irritated
okay now can we talk about the way the story used the letters xaden wrote to violet when they were appart to kinda dive a little into xaden’s life and give the illusion that they opened up to each other and they somehow know each other???
no i didn’t like that, just give them more time to talk between them and create some bond bc besides the bond w their dragons and all of that they just don’t work
but over all the most infuriating part was that the author just spoon-feeds us information instead of explaining why and make us understand how the world works, in the end of every conflict violet just somehow knows the answer and the way to solve things and we just watch her do it and i feel like it does not give us room to figure it out along with her
i just finished the published books bc everyone was talking ab it and i thought that it would get better and i don’t like to leave something unfinished (idk how i made it through tbh) but i won’t keep reading the other books
