One of my all time favorite books.
I'm not a big romance fan, but it's so well written and so well balanced with the fantasy and political intrigue.
The sex scenes will be shocking if you don't general ready spicy books. They'll be relatively tame if you read very spicy books, like the Sleeping Quartet, but with a refreshing dose of consent.
The world building and backstory is extensive, but I find it a lot more enjoyable to read and easier to get through than Tolkien (who I cannot get through at all).
