I was less than a fan of this book. I like to venture out and read science fiction on occasion. I choose this book based on the blurb thinking it would be more than it was. The basic story premise is about a group of people who are living in a primitive colony on a foreign planet. Many years ago a few astronauts from earth found their way through black hole and then stranded on this new planet. They decided to continue reproducing to create a new population. The new 'family' lives on Eden waiting for someone from Earth to come back and save them.
I immediately was thrown off by the writing style and language. I didn't like it one bit. I was able to eventually get used to some of it. LIke a new civilization, their language was very basic. They use words like 'landing veekle' in place of landing vehicle or 'big big' instead of very big. It makes reading this book somewhat difficult.
Halfway through the book I wanted to give up and throw it aside. The plot moved slow. It seemed like we were getting no where. This book could do with being significantly shorter. I give it 2 stars for the description of a whole new world. It gets your imagination going but lacks when it comes to plot and characters. I just didn't find it interesting and had no desire to continue reading it.
