Black Swan by Kel Carpenter, Aurelia Jane

2.0

I won't lie. I think I was pretty bored by the end here.

This series as a whole was very mediocre. It had enough going on that I found myself still interested in seeing where it was going, but at no point was I invested in the story or the characters. Not saying that anyone was inherently bad, I just didn't form a connection with anyone.

Fury's character went from being cute and quirky to a little annoying and eye roll inducing. I generally didn't like nor dislike any of her mates. They were all pretty bland cookie cutter mates that pop up in these types of books.

I liked the storyline more than the characters, so I'm sad that they didn't do more for me. The whole Jake twist was fun, and I enjoyed the addition of the four horsemen. I think that's where the stars I actually gave this book stem from, I do, however, wish there was more to it. I kind of hit the back burner and fizzled out, which was really disappointing to me.

Overall. This was okay. The books kind of sat in the same “meh” corner for me all the way through, so I did drop the rating on this one.
