Now Entering Addamsville by Francesca Zappia

“You don’t go looking for the truth to be happy. You go looking so that you know.” - Francesca Zappia, Now Entering Addamsville

I loved, loved, loved this book. I want a whole series full of these characters and in this world. Or at least a sequel. I am not ready for this story to end. There are so many ways for this story to continue, I will be so disappointed if this is the only book. This is one of those books that I can definitely see myself rereading. Although on it’s back cover Now Entering Addamsville is described as Stranger Things meets Buffy The Vampire Slayer, I really don’t see how it is anything like Stranger Things, and I haven’t watched Buffy so I can’t comment on that part. But I think Supernatural is a better comparison. I kept expecting Sam and Dean to barge in and start saving the day.

Now Entering Addamsville follows 18-year-old hunter, Zora Novak who had the ability to see ghosts. And Addamsville is full of them. This town is famous for its ghost stories and often attracts many tourists looking for a thrill. When Zora is accused of killing the high school janitor by setting fire to his house she must fight to clear her name and hunt down the real firestarter (a.k.a some kind of demon) before anyone else gets hurt. On top of this, people from a famous ghost hunting show come into town looking to do a little investigation of their own. (If any of you have seen Supernatural, think of the ghostfacers hehehe.).

Everything about this book was amazing. The plot was crazy and mysterious and will keep you at the edge of your seat. I wanted to be friends with all the characters. No two were alike, each of them had very strong and developed personalities. And the writing was beautiful. It wasn’t all adventure and hunting monsters, there was also a lot of emotion. And a lot of humor. Honeslty I haven’t read a book this fun in a while. Zora is such a strong character and more than anything her story reminded me that you are never as alone as you think you are.
