What a Girl Wants by Lindsey Kelk

2.0

From the prologue and opening chapter I thought I’d picked up a winner. Best friends in jail together in Milan in formal dresses, breaking into your own flat and hiding under your bed because you’re afraid to face your flatmate and getting arrested as you fall out of your bedroom window to escape said flatmate. This was a promising start, this I could see on the big screen with Kristen Wiig.

And then it went downhill.

The main character is pathetic to the point of annoyance rather than affection. There is no development of the main love interests.

On that note, without wishing to offend anyone, and in particular the author*, from the way sex is dealt with in these books you would honestly think the author had never got any. Whilst I wasn’t expecting 50 Shades level of description I want more than the awkward mumblings of a teenager embarrassed to watch a sex scene with their mum and dad on a post watershed BBC drama.

There are also contradictions within the story which just plain annoyed me.

You won't miss anything by not reading this one
