Classically Grant Morrison- one part dark, psychological character study, one part obscure references, one part... mad sh#t like ninja man-bats.
It's also one of the best Batman runs of all time, proof that the comic industry as a whole should always let them cook.
(Damien's existence loses it one star, though, cause i cannot stand him)

Moderate: Animal cruelty, Body shaming, Gore, Gun violence, Physical abuse, Sexual violence, Torture, Violence, Blood, Police brutality, Kidnapping, Grief, Murder, Injury/Injury detail
Minor: Sexual content, Medical content, Religious bigotry, Schizophrenia/Psychosis
This is a Grant Morrison book, so anyone with an aversion to insane stuff should stay away. Also, the bad guys are REALLY bad, and frequently do horrible things to innocent people.
On a more specific note, "The Clown at Midnight" might be the most disturbing Joker-related story I've ever read, so skip that one if you can't handle horror.
