All the fake dating magic!

I really loved Eve, our everyday heroine. Boone finds her working in a coffee shop. Little does he know, he is her celebrity crush. He needs a fake girlfriend to help him through a PR nightmare, and she has just learned her boyfriend is cheating on her.

Boone's previous girlfriend had been emotionally abusive. I was glad to see an acknowledgement that women can be abusers and men can be hurt by abusive relationships. Also, during this mental health awareness month, it was nice to see mental health representation in the book through Eve's anxiety. For both, I would have liked to see those aspects developed further.

Eve and Boone were so good for each other. There was so much pining and worrying that they would mess up their friendship and trust in each other. And yet, their communication was better than I expected. Fake dating is one of my favorite tropes, and this was such a great use of it.

Thank you to Susannah Nix for the advanced reader copy. These opinions are my own.
