Oathbringer by Brandon Sanderson
4.0
This was almost rounded down to three stars but made it up in the end. It's just so long, longer than it really should be. I think part of my reason for feeling this was because I listened to the audiobook. 55 hours... When I finished the first two books in a few days by reading them myself.
Plus, there are two voice actors and only one is good, unfortunately Shallan's voice actor just wasn't very good.
For the actual story, it's great in parts, as I'm used to from the Stormlight Archive. It's still quite bloated. I feel like whole chapters could have been removed from the middle and little would have been missed from the worldbuilding, characters or story.
There are certain revelations that will make your jaw drop. The battle scenes at the end are fantastic! Dalinar's struggle with Odium is one of the best moments in the series
Shallan is pretty terrible now though. I loved her last book but her poorly implemented DID completely flopped for me. I hope Renorin, Wit, and Jasnah get more time in the next book, they're all fantastic. I'm also really glad at howthe hinted romance between Kaladin and Shallan is over. I just didn't like it. Adolin and Shallan were great, I have no idea why Kaladin/Shallan had any interest in each other.
