What My Bones Know: A Memoir of Healing from Complex Trauma
by Stephanie Foo
Ugh what a beautiful story. I’ve never read a book quite like this before and I wasn’t sure if it would hold my attention the whole way through, but it felt like I was right on this journey along with Stephanie. I was so invested that I teared up when she got proposed to, and again once the book was done.
To write out your trauma, speak it into a microphone and even share recordings of your therapy sessions is a level of vulnerability that is too enormous to capture. Stephanie is an incredibly resilient woman and I feel honored to have been given a look into how she became the person she is today.
