An Offer From a Gentleman by Julia Quinn

3.0

Didn't realize this was going to be a Cinderella retelling and got a little frustrated with it for the first half. However, this pairing is now my 2nd favorite, after Kate and Anthony, and I loved seeing how they made it work and overcame societal pressures. Romance still isn't my thing overall, as I do get frustrated with some of the tropes and just general lack of communication that the plot so heavily depends on, but I am enjoying getting to know each Bridgerton better, especially those that aren't in the show as much.

I also enjoyed the departure from the "proper" due to both Sophie's and Benedict's social standings as bastard and second son, and there being less pressure on each of them.
