Runaways, Vol. 1: Find Your Way Home by Rainbow Rowell

I reread the original run for the first time in a decade before reading this volume, and I'd forgotten how much I loved it, and I'm so glad it's continuing. There's a sadness and a complexity to this volume that adds so much to these characters.
I always loved Gert--she's one of the few teenage characters I've read who looked like me and wasn't a.) a gross monster who was constantly eating, or b.) a sad loser with zero self-worth who was obsessed with her weight, needed to be fixed...and constantly eating. But on my reread, I LOVED Chase and how that relationship was originally written. The take on Chase here in particular does his character such a service, and I'm really excited to read more.
Although really, one of my favorite comic series by one of my favorite authors? This really could not have gone wrong for me.
