genuinely phenomenal in every way??? Wang paces the story perfectly, takes great measures to make sure the intricate magic system is explained coherently, and tackles huge ideas in a meaningful, articulate way. the romance aspect is a subplot that honestly works best as a subplot as the main goal of the novel is to tackle systemic sexism, classism, racism, and the likes. 10/10 would recommend to any fantasy reader.
