Deep Trouble (Classic Goosebumps #2) by R.L. Stine

3.0

Earlier in the year, I got a hankering to start reading or rereading all of the Goosebumps books I loved as a kid some twenty years ago. This was the first one I chose and, if I remember correctly, not the best one but not the worst one. If the rest of them are anything like this, I think I'll enjoy them. It's pretty juvenile writing, but given what it is and the target audience, it makes sense. It's interesting now to see and read a Goosebumps book as an adult, but the plotting and pace is so bad in some spots that it makes me wince. The ending to this particular tale also leaves something to be desired in my opinion. Let's see how some others turn out from here.
