My Best Friend's Murder: The new addictive and twisty psychological thriller that will hold you in a 'vice-like grip' (Sophie Hannah) by Polly Phillips

2.0

Bec and Izzy have been friends their whole lives, but suddenly Bec went to Izzy's place to find Izzy's body lying at the bottom of the stairs with lots of blood. And there are actually more of those friendships.

Bec and Izzy have the most toxic friendship ever, and it made me wonder how old they are because it felt like I was reading a YA high school drama. Instead of giving off a scary or suspense vibe, I'm just annoyed with them. The characters were so bland and unlikable.

The story becomes so repetitive and annoying. And it picked up around 70% and I thought the ending would satisfy me, but no, it was so stupid, ridiculous, and bad.

TW: this book contains cheating, really toxic and manipulative characters.
