Round #2 of of Scott Cawthon’s little short stories.
1 - ‘Fetch’ - 3.5⭐️
I love the fact that this was a Freddy Fazbear’s chain pizzeria that had been closed down, meaning that what was trapped inside was probably meant to be trapped inside.
I think children wandering into abandoned places with no parental consequences makes everything a little spookier, especially since this little robodog was listening into the poor kid’s text/phone convos, misreading his texts as wants.
Didn’t really understand the family dynamic presented though? Felt a little strange admittedly.
2. ‘Lonely Freddy’ - 3⭐️
Again, weird family dynamic. But I guess it makes sense in the set-up. Alec has always wanted to be the outsider, acting out so that his parents treat him accordingly. Thus when things backfire plan-wise between him and his sister, he releases his true colours and ultimately cause his semi-demise. If you can call being turned into a Lonely Freddy bear with the task of comforting lonely kids considered outsiders - or he would, if he hadn’t been puked on by a kid that can’t each chocolate (eating lots of chocolate) meaning he gets dumped into a box in the back room?
Not the strongest story in the trio.
3. ‘Out of Stock’ - 3.5⭐️
Despite getting the same score as ‘Fetch’, I just preferred this story. Finally there’s some good triumphing evil in the Freddy Faz-cinematic-universe. I love that Oscar shows what sometimes happens when a child has to support his parent/they rely on their child from a young age - sometimes they act out, in this case, Oscar steals a toy that he wants. I love that his friends support him - through bad decisions and good or even decisions out of his control - like when Oscar’s mum tells him he can’t go out trick-or-treating so they tell him they’ll share their candy with him. So cute. I loved that they were all just so bonded with one another that they were determined to squash that gross, half-human Plushtrap toy.
