I enjoyed this book, especially the first couple of sections on the drug war. Pollan does an excellent job of highlighting the hypocrisies of clamping down on opium/heroin while enabling, and even supporting the pharmaceutical companies enabling the opioid epidemic in the US. It's also interesting to read about the therapeutic and recreational elements of plant-based drugs.
