I was looking for something light and fast and this book was the perfect answer and so much more. There’s an unexpected depth to these characters. I found the fl to be unique in the romance book world for her confidence, charm, smarts, wit, pride, and outlook on life after what she’s been through. The ml was a bit cliche in terms of backstory which I’ve never hated but maxim feels very real in his insecurities. I love possessiveness that doesn’t cross that absolute creep go to jail line. Very sweet book and made me want to read the first book but I know that it’ll be boring in comparison to this because of the law of second couple superiority.
