Take a photo of a barcode or cover
I read this because its on so many best books of the year lists. I kept going because I thought it might get better, there might be an ending that twisted enough to qualify it for the lists. In the end, it was completely forgettable, with characters that never seemed more than sketches to me. The reflections on violence and loneliness suggested there was interesting intent behind the story, but it wasn't there enough to make the book work for me.
