To Kill a Mockingbird by Harper Lee
4.0
I really enjoyed Harper Lee's novel To Kill a Mockingbird; just in time for the release of Go Set a Watchman, as well.
This story truly does show different perspectives that I've never seen in other books I've read before. I love its lessons and morals, its classic coming-of-age story-line, and Harper Lee's unique and memorable characters and dialogue.
The only flaw I have for this book is that it took me a good while to get into. I felt some scenes/back-stories weren't really needed, but other than that I thought this was a wonderful book that everyone should read once.
I could go into many details about what I loved, but the major thing I loved about this book was Atticus's quote: "You never really understand a person until you consider things from his point of view . . . until you climb into his skin and walk around in it." That is truly the moral that impacted me most coming out of this book. Truly amazing story.
