Pues me lo he pasado bastante bien leyéndolo!
A ver, el título no puede dejarlo más claro: es un cuento de hadas. Si te lo tomas así, vas a leerlo estupendamente, ya que a quién no le puede gustar la historia de un trabajador social que en una fiesta conoce a un guapísimo maromazo que está forrado y al que se le vuelve el palote loco por él. Pero si esperas algo más profundo, debido a que ambos viven en NY pero son latinos, y se tocan temas como la depresión o el maltrato, pues puede que estés todo el tiempo con los ojos en blanco, ya que es algo que se ve de modo muy tangencial. Supongo que la intención de la escritora era esa, la de hacer una historia bonita e irreal dentro de un entorno real.
Los protagonistas son adorables, sobre todo Tom, que no puede ser más perfecto ni más príncipe de cuento. Camilo es más gruñón y, muchas veces, más cabezón e incomprensible, pero claro, alguien tenía que compensar la perfeccción. Hay hasta niña, que también es perfecta.
Lo que más me ha molestado del libro (y por lo que no le doy más nota) es por el español que aparece. Ellos meten palabras en español constantemente y eso se ve muy natural, no molesta para nada. Lo malo es que casi todo el español que aparece lo hace con faltas de ortografía. Hay una ausencia casi total de tildes, que incluso alguna vez te hace confundir la palabra. Pensé que era una decisión de la escritora, quitar todas las tildes y ya, pero es que en algún momento sí que las hay, así que no entiendo por qué en la mayoría de casos las palabras no aparecen acentuadas. También hay alguna que otra falta de ortografía, que bien puede ser una errata, pero que me afirma más en la sensación de que el lenguaje español que aparece no ha sido cuidado.
De todos modos, el libro merece la pena, es entretenido, dulce, con algunos momentos hot (poco detallados) y que te incita a soñar con cuentos de hadas en la época actual.

It has been a good reading, a complete modern fairytale. And, as every fairytale, you must keep your mind open and don't expect a lot of reality. If you can do that (which was my case) you'll have a lovely experience. If you cannot, maybe you'll be rolling your eyes every two pages.
The MC are lovely, especially Tom. He's a modern prince charming, handsome, generous, with so much love to give... and a lot of money too. Camilo is the grumpy one. He's been worried with his mother's depression and her money problems and, although his relationship with Tom is perfect, they have a different POV in the financial area and that become their great issue.
It's been a sweet reading for me. The book is mostly well written, the love story beautiful (and sometimes a little cheesy, but it's a fairytale, so you must expect that) and perfect when you need something that melt your problems away during your reading time.
However, there are two things that disturbed me. On one hand the book makes you believe that there's going to be a lot of social problems involved with the story (the renovation of the shelter and how it can affect to Milo and Tom's relatioship, the difference of social status and wealth, the hard life of inmigrant people...) and, although you can see glimpses of these, it never goes deeper. On the other hand I had many problems with the Spanish the characters speak. Since I'm Spaniard, I struggle a lot when I read in English and find a lot of words in Spanish, mostly because they're almost always bad written, which is this case. I didn't like the lack of accents (very important in Spanish since they can give a different meaning to the same word) and another spelling mistakes. I loved the Spanglish, it seems great and natural in this story, but it seems that the Spanish wasn't paid special attention. It made me roll my eyes everytime I found that kind of mistake.
Overall it was a sweet and charming reading.
