I greatly enjoyed this book. The world building, political intrigue and the depth of each of the characters truly impressed me. I watched the movie before reading this book, which I usually don’t recommend but I found that the movie helped with understanding the technical terms and jargon that the book throws around
One problem I had with the book however, was the usage of Islamic iconography and terminology in relation to the Fremen. While I’m not certain what the author has said on the subject, I found it to be appropriating Islamic religion which bothered me.
