katthedogperson 's review for:
Year One
by Nora Roberts
I see all of these good reviews and feel like we read completely different books. This book was so boring. The only reason I kept reading until the end is that the beginning was actually good! It started so strong and then just led into this slow, dull, apocalyptic world with no real suspense or interesting characters. It feels like a zombie story without the suspense of zombies. You're literally just reading about people rationing food for most of the book. Towards the end a pregnant character who was wandering around in the wild falls in love with a random farmer with no characteristics. He helps her give birth and to get closer to him before letting him see her lady parts, she asks him about his first time having sex. Wow. I don't know anything about this character but that. Great character development. The beginning was a 4 star beginning, the rest of the book was one star.
