Sins of the Orchid by Eva Winners

5.0

'Forgive me, fellow readers, for I have sinned. I've found my new favourite Eva Winners book, and it comes with a side order of steam, bright orchids, and a handsome slice of Italian known as Santino'

Thank you to Eva for sending me an ebook Advanced Reader's Copy for me to read and review, as part of her ARC team.

Stepping away from all things Belles & Mobsters for a moment, it's time for Sins of the Orchid to step up and take centre stage. This mafia-style romance and its characters are about to introduce you to a whole new world with unforgettable, breath-taking characters who deliver as much drama as they do steam!

Where to start... this was a read I knew was going to be good based on the blurb alone, but there is so much more to unpack and so much I wish I could include--but alas, I'm keeping my review spoiler-free--, so much I never expected to be as jaw-dropping and mind-blowing. Eva continues to win me over more and more with each book she releases, but this book is one that truly stands out above all I've had the pleasure of reading from her so far. In fact, I've added it to my growing list of top 2022 reads. The list isn't long, but Sins of the Orchid had what it took to make it onto it.

Sins of the Orchid has:

✔ Strangers-to-lovers chemistry mixed with a little coming of age
✔ Steam, steam and more steam
✔ Delicious deception
✔ Posessive alpha men
✔ Lip-bitingly intense Italians
✔ A twist upon a twist at the end that you never saw coming
✔ A Happily Ever After (HEA)

You want it, Sins of the Orchid has it. If you're going to make this your first dive into Eva Winners, do it with this read and you'll soon be clicking that one-click purchase button on the rest of her current reads that are available to buy.

Now, let's talk our leading man, Santino. Up until now, there has been one previous main male character who--after reading his book--left a lasting impression that no other has been able to take his place. Until now. Santino is everything we readers of romantic passion and all things mafia seek for in a bookish man. Strong, passionate, determined, romantic under all the layers of his personality. Santino had it all. And boy did he use his all to try his best to resist Amore, but his best wasn't enough. Seeing the shift between ruthless Italian Don, to hopeless romantic who'd move heaven and earth for his woman and for her safety, absolutely brilliant!

Amore, herself, proved equally as fascinating but for a whole host of different reasons. We see many things with her story, her past, her personality and her growth right from her introduction to both us and the Russo's (Santi's family). Despite not being in the know for most of the time, not by her own choice, Amore has huge character development within Sins of the Orchid. From tearful teenager, a beautiful, strong, hands-on woman blossoms and blooms. She is a strong, independent woman that despite not only being around Santino, but several strong men as part of the mafia world her family is involved in and with, she holds her own and is very much a character to be admired and cheered on.

I sincerely hope that Eva continues this series with another book, because I'm far from done reading about this world and the characters within it.

Five blooming stars for Sins of the Orchid, Santino, Amore and of course, Eva!
