Athos in America Hc by Jason

4.0

Jason has such a distinctive, blank style... yes they are cats who are people, but really, they are usually inscrutable more than cartoon cats have to be. I think it really pays off here more than in his book about the Camino de Santiago, which I think was autobiographical.... you have to guess when things are about to be a bit wistful, when someone is going to betray their partner, or whether on the next page the story will take a giant leap forward without any foreshadowing from characters... it's kind of awesome how the tone can shift without words or even expressions. "So Long Mary Anne" and "Athos in America" were my favorites.
