I really liked Gone Girl so thought I would give this book a go. Overall I enjoyed it, I thought the storyline was interesting and engaging. The one thing I didn’t like was the unnecessary theme of self harm. I don’t think it really added anything to the plot, and felt like it was added for shock factor more than anything. Also the detective never speaking to Camille again after seeing her scars, yikes.

Graphic: Murder and Self harm
Moderate: Medical trauma
