The Feminine Mystique by Betty Friedan

informative reflective slow-paced

2.0

This book obviously has a lot of historical value in second wave feminism. Beyond that, it had limited merit to who this applied to. Every time Friedan proposes women should hire house cleaners and nannies, I wonder if she considered those workers liberation, experience, or perspective. The chapter on gay men was hard to stomach. Each chapter was hit or miss. I so wish it was better, but it’s a good foundation for understanding the history of feminism.
