I listened to the audiobook instead of reading it. This is the first time I’ve ever done that. I enjoyed the narration by Wheaton for the most part except for his impression of Kira and the higher feminine British accent which made me cringe really hard.
Also, I began noticing the way he pronounces words with a ‘long O’ sound which I never noticed in RP1. He would say it like ONI for instance and it sounded like Ow-NI instead. I haven’t looked up where he’s from to see if it’s a location based accent or not.
As for the novel itself, as others have said, it’s no RP1. The book overall was enjoyable, imo, except for the ending which I didn’t care for at all. I might go back and listen to the last couple of chapters again so I can take it in more.
