Animal Farm
by George Orwell
an amazing introduction to communism, totalitarianism, and how a well-adjusted society can still be subjected to corrupted sovereignty. these animals were blinded by patriotism and the only thing keeping them going was the lie of a promised future. the end was eerie in the way imagined it, like the pigs faces slowly morphing to distorted human faces. wish i read this sooner honestly. favorite character is probably boxer, mostly because of his reflection of most americans (and honestly, most of society as a whole). this is why reading is extremely important and the fact this book is being banned along with 1984 speaks volumes and we’re entering an era similar to Animal farm. or perhaps we’ve always lived like slaves but equal.. of course some more equal than others.
