I loved how this story looks at the pain and importance of memory and heritage and legacy. How, without concrete knowledge of past events, it can be so easy to wave the past and its pains away. How sometimes that same concrete knowledge can feel like too much to bear and it needs others to share that burden and keep going. The writing style reads similar to the debut novel of the author, as both stories are deeply internal narratives told by the protagonist. Highly recommend.
