3.5 stars. This is one of those books I will say I liked the story of, but not the actual book. Man, the ending was good. But there were, in my opinion, too many unnecessary characters and long stretches in which nothing really happened (Countess G, the introduction of the Count to a lot of people who did not prove important to the plot), so I would say, read an abridged version, or an audiobook, if you're doing something else.
