Haunted by Chuck Palahniuk
3.0

The ultimate writer's retreat; a modern day Villa Diodati, where twenty writers are locked away and given three months to produce a screenplay, story or novel. They tell stories to each other, and since it's Palahniuk it's a pretty twisted bunch, with foot reflexology assassins, bigfoot hunters and other stories. The characters are pretty bland, and before their stories they're introduced with cringe-worthy poems. The stories read like Palahniuk's throwaway ideas, and after a while, they blend into each other. (The first story in the book, about a guy whose guts get sucked out by a swimming pool pump after he jerks off while sitting on it is the only one I remember.)
