The Paris Apartment starts off action packed. A young woman flies to Paris, France to meet her brother at his apartment. When she arrives only a couple hours after conversing with him he’s nowhere to be found. The longer her brother stays missing the more she starts digging around, and the more questions she has about her brother. The neighbours are suspicious and each one has secrets they’re hiding. Everyone is a suspect to her brothers disappearance.

There’s always the importance of pacing in a thriller and this one started off running at the beginning. The short chapters were fast paced and quick to digest. After a running start the book really slows down. I’d have preferred a more build up than a slow down. Thrillers need a good tone for me, and this book nailed it with its atmospheric and spooky vibes.

Where it lost me a bit was the multiple points of view. There were a lot of them and I’d have preferred the main character as the majority with little snippets of the other characters. The multiple perspectives in this thriller caused it to be a bit disjointed for me in places.

Overall this was a typical thriller, if you’re a fan of the genre I think you’ll enjoy it. I’m typically a hit or a miss with thrillers personally. Thank you @harpercollinsca for a copy of the book in exchange for an honest review, 2.5✨.
