Why Be Happy When You Could Be Normal? by Jeanette Winterson
4.0
This is a memoir of a woman who was adopted by a fundamentalist Christian woman and her husband and raised in a very conservative, strict home. If that wasn't hard enough, Jeanette realized at a young age that she was gay, which was utterly unacceptable.
Some parts are funny, but this is a mostly sad tale of Jeanette's life and why and how she chose happiness.
